Privacy Policy

MyTask, the Practice Management Software for CA Practitioners, CA Firms, tax consultancy firm or any other entity using it, is designed, developed and maintained by the Gajanan Softwares Private Limited. This policy explains what information we collect through https://mytask.co/ and the MyTask software, why we collect it, who it is shared with and what you can ask us to do with it.

A. Introduction

Please read this policy together with our Terms of Use. By using this site, filling in any form on it or registering for the software, you acknowledge that you have read both and agree to them.

B. Information we collect

Information you give us. We collect personal information only when you choose to give it:

  • Request a demo, Contact us and pricing estimate forms: your name, email ID, mobile number, city, country, the size of your firm, any referral code and whatever you write in the message. For an estimate, also the package, users and term you selected.
  • Free trial and account registration: your name, the name of your firm, email ID, mobile number, country, state, city and financial year, and the password you choose for the account.
  • Confirming it is you: a one-time code sent to your email ID and, in India, to your mobile number. If you choose to confirm your email with Google instead, Google tells us your email ID and name and confirms that the address is yours; we do not receive your Google password.
  • Emails and calls: whatever you send us when you write to or call us.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we and our service providers receive your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, the date and time of the visit, the pages visited and the links used. We use the IP address to tell which country you are visiting from, so that the right prices and sign-up steps are shown, and to limit misuse of our forms.

Information in the software. A subscriber firm enters into MyTask the data of its own practice: its clients, staff, tasks, documents, invoices and the like. That data belongs to the subscriber firm. We hold and process it only to provide the software to that firm.

C. How we use it

  • To answer your enquiry, arrange a demo or send the estimate you asked for.
  • To create and run your trial or paid account, and to send you the login details and service messages for it.
  • To raise invoices, receive payments and keep the records the law requires.
  • To keep the site and the software secure, prevent misuse, and find and fix faults.
  • To understand, in total and not person by person, how the site is used, so that we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send you marketing on behalf of anyone else.

D. Who it is shared with

We do not sell or rent personally identifiable information to any third party (public/private). It is shared only with the service providers we need in order to run the site and the software, and only for that purpose:

  • the companies that host the website and the software;
  • the email service and the SMS gateway that deliver our emails and one-time codes;
  • Google, where you choose to confirm your email with Google, and for the analytics and advertising measurement described under Cookies below;
  • Cloudflare, whose check on our forms tells people apart from automated programs;
  • the payment gateway and the banks concerned, when you make a payment.

In case disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with or required by law, regulation or legal request, your information may be shared with any Court, Tribunal, Law Enforcement Agencies or government agencies.

Client contact details (names, email IDs and phone numbers) entered by subscriber firms are used solely to deliver the transactional communication those firms send to their own clients through MyTask, as described in our Communication Policy. This data is not used by Gajanan Softwares Private Limited for marketing and is not sold or shared with any third party, and is processed in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

E. Payments

Online payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway and the banks concerned, on their own secure pages. We do not collect or store your card number, CVV, net-banking password or UPI PIN on our servers. We receive from the gateway only what is needed to record the payment, such as the amount, the date, the transaction reference and whether it succeeded.

F. Security

Any information provided to this website will be protected from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Access to it is limited to the people who need it to do the things described above. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so please keep your login ID and password to yourself, and change the password sent to you when your account is first opened.

G. How long we keep it

Enquiries, demo requests and estimates are kept for as long as they are needed to deal with them and for our business records.

The data in a subscriber's account is kept for as long as the account is active. If a subscription is cancelled, the data is retained for 12 months so that the account can be reactivated, and is then completely erased from our system, as set out in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Invoices, payment records and anything else the law requires us to keep are kept for as long as the law requires.

H. Your choices and rights

You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information of yours we hold, to correct it, to erase it where the law does not require us to keep it, or to stop using it for something you had agreed to earlier. To do so, write to the Grievance Officer named below from the email ID concerned.

If you are a client of a firm that uses MyTask and your details were entered by that firm, please write to that firm: the data is theirs and they decide what is done with it.

I. Cookies

We wish to inform you that Cookies are files that websites send to your computer or another Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information or settings on your device. Our Sites may use cookies such as HTTP cookies. Your browser may tell you how to be notified when you receive certain types of cookies and how to restrict or disable certain cookies. Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to use all the features of our Sites.

This site uses them, and similar storage in your browser, for three things:

  • to remember your own settings, such as the light or dark display and the currency you chose;
  • during a free-trial sign-up, to remember for about half an hour that your email ID and mobile number have been confirmed, so that you are not asked again;
  • through Google Analytics and Google's advertising tags, to count visits and see which pages are read. These record the pages visited and your approximate location, and do not tell us your name.

J. Children
