The Running Account Itself
Opening balance, add billing and debit notes, less receipts, less discount, less credit notes, and what is left. Laid out the way an accountant would write it by hand — A plus B minus C minus D minus E, with every figure opening into the entries behind it. A client questioning a balance is answered from the screen, not from a promise to check.
Opening Balance
What was carried in on 1 April, before anything happened this year.
Billing And Debit Notes Raised During The Year
Everything invoiced to the group since the year opened, plus debit notes.
Direct Bills
Amounts charged without an invoice raised through the system — brought into the same statement rather than kept in somebody’s separate note.
Collection, Split By How It Came In
Every receipt against the group with the money separated into cash, cheque, bank transfer and TDS deducted, plus the date, narration, receipt number and which receipt book it was written from. A practice running more than one receipt book can still tell them apart a year later.

Direct Receipts
Money received outside the receipt books, carried into the same running total so the closing figure is the whole truth and not the part the system happens to know about.
Discount And Credit Notes Given
What the firm wrote off and what it credited back, each as its own deduction rather than netted quietly into the billing figure. A partner can see what the practice gave away this year.
Net Outstanding Before Advance Receipts
The straight arithmetic result: what the group owes before any money already sitting on account is set against it.
Unpaid Bills
The balance opened up invoice by invoice — file number, client, invoice number, date, amount, what has been received against it, credit notes, and what remains. The narration carries the service and the period it was for, so a row reads “GST - Monthly 3B - 2018-2019 - February” rather than a bare figure. That is the difference between a statement a client argues with and one they pay.

Bills From Every Firm You Invoice Through, On One Statement
Each outstanding row names the organisation that raised it. A group billed partly through the firm, partly through an associate concern and partly through a private limited company sees all of it in one running account — which is how Indian practices actually invoice, and is the case that breaks most accounting software.
Advance Receipts Held
Money taken before the work was billed, including advances carried forward from the opening date, each with its date, narration, receipt number and book.
Advances Already Settled Against Bills
Which advances have been consumed, so the unapplied figure is a live number rather than a total that only ever grows.
Advances Still Unapplied
Received and not yet set against any bill. This is the figure a client points at when they say they have already paid.
Net Outstanding After Advance Receipts
The number to chase. Outstanding less the advances lying unapplied — and the statement shows both halves, so it is defensible rather than asserted.
Estimates Issued And Not Yet Billed
Work quoted to the group that has not become an invoice, on the same page as what has — so a quotation does not quietly stop existing the moment it is sent.
Expenses Incurred On The Group
What staff spent on this group’s behalf, with who applied, what for, how much was claimed, how much was approved, and when. Money laid out for a client is recoverable only if it appears on the statement the client is shown.

Work Done For Free
How many jobs were marked free of charge for this group. A concession stays visible on the account rather than disappearing into goodwill nobody can put a number on at renewal time.
Work Still Open For The Group
Jobs not yet completed, counted on the financial statement itself — so the conversation about an unpaid bill and the conversation about unfinished work happen with both facts in view.
Staff in Charge
Every client file rolled into the statement, with the file number and the person in the firm responsible for it.

One Account For A Whole Family Or Group
Five separate client files — a wife, a firm, two associated concerns, another individual — billed separately all year and settled by one person. The statement adds them up as the group, because that is who actually pays.
Any Year Back To 2004
The same statement for any financial year the firm has been on MyTask, so an old balance can be explained rather than simply accepted.
Actions you can take from this screen5 actions
Download the full statement
The whole running account as a file, ready to attach to an email or hand across a desk.
Or just the unpaid bills
A second download carrying only the outstanding invoices. A client chasing their own account rarely wants the year’s arithmetic, they want the list of what is open.
Print it
A printed statement for the client who still prefers one, off the same screen.
Click any total to see its details
Every tile at the top of the screen — opening balance, billing, collection, outstanding, advances, expenses — leads to its own schedule further down. Nothing on the statement is a figure you have to take on trust.
See the same account as analytics
The group read as charts rather than as a ledger, on a second tab of the same screen.
